Dear Dominique, I am currently flying back to America and wanted to thank you for such an amazing, meaningful, and memorable stay at Airelles Le Grand Controle. The experience was unforgettable and far exceeded my expectations. My wife and I had an incredible time together, and it is a trip we will remember for the rest of our lives. As we discussed, true luxury is not simply staying at an expensive hotel. Luxury is hospitality. It is attention to detail, anticipation of needs, and making guests feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. We felt that throughout our stay from every member of your team, including Evan, Thomas, Charles, and Berenice. We do not expect perfection. We simply want to feel wanted and cared for. Yet somehow, our stay with you felt perfect. The place was transformative. Every detail reflected the period, the history, and the vision behind the property. The private tours of Versailles were extraordinary, and we learned so much from your passionate and knowledgeable guides. Evan seemed as though he was performing in a musical the entire time. His enthusiasm and joy were contagious. Charles greeted us when we arrived and assisted us as we stepped from our car. I still remember how he offered his arm for support. It was such a small gesture, yet it perfectly reflected the level of care that defines your team. The dinner experience was absolutely mind-blowing. It truly felt like a royal feast, complete with wonderful entertainment. At times, it felt as though we were living inside a film. The Roman bath was equally memorable. It was so peaceful and soothing that my wife and I nearly fell asleep simply sitting there and enjoying the atmosphere. Most importantly, I am grateful that my wife was able to experience all of this with me. Together, we stepped into the world of Louis XIV, Marie Antoinette, and Napoleon. It was immersive, educational, and genuinely moving. I left with a deeper appreciation for French history, culture, and hospitality. It was a wonderful day to be in France and, indeed, a wonderful day to feel a little French. Bravo to you and your entire team. I hope to return soon with my in-laws. Until then, please accept my sincere thanks for creating such a transformative and spectacular experience. Warm regards, David Lee

Gorgeous hotel but service could be better

I had the most unbelievably magnificent 1 night stay at the Airelles Le Grand Controle. Although it is by far the most expensive hotel I've ever stayed at, the level of detail, service, and the experiences you have make this hotel incomparable to any other luxury experience, including Ritz Carlton Reserves, Park Hyatts, or even international first class flights on Singapore Air or ANA. I had booked the hotel specifcally for a romantic event, and I could not be happier with the planning and high level of execution. Coline, Morgane, Manon, and all of the other staff did a fantastic job making my stay truly special. I can wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone looking for a special stay with specific event requirements. Aside from this, the hotel also provides an unbelievably exclusive experience, with once-in-a-lifetime after hours tours of Versailles, as well as the Grand Trianon. Standing in the Hall of Mirrors and having the entire space to yourself (and a few others in the tour group) is truly unforgettable. For many, this experience may already be worth the money. You also get to see some closed off areas not normally open to the public, such as the private apartments at the Grand Trianon. The hotel also provides golf carts for exploring the Versailles gardens, which is really convenient. The room itself is very extravagant, I was grateful to receive an upgrade to a suite for my 1 night stay. This suite was the most well equipped hotel room I've seen, with very luxurious amenities and full minibar of premium snacks included, as well as decanted spirits. The room (and the rest of the hotel) is also beautifully furnished with period appropriate furniture, it really makes you appreciate the history of the space. The bed uses a special mattress specifically for Airelles, it is supremely comfortable, most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I had also requested memory foam pillows and these were also perfect. The royal wake up was quite a fun and novel experience, although it sounds a bit funny, I would definitely recommend to do it once! Food and drink also does not disappoint of course. Breakfast is included and features a truly impressive spread, including the most beautiful and delicious croissants, very premium smoked salmon, a selection of hot food items made to order, fresh orange juice, champagne, and more. As for the royal feast dinner, it is quite expensive, but it was a truly elevated dining experience, it does not disappoint compared to non hotel fine dining experiences. All dishes were well balanced, tasty, fresh, and of course the service from the waiters were phenomenal. I believe it is a 1 starred restaurant, for those that care. We did also make use of the spa for a 30 minute leg and foot treatment, this was also very good and on par with other luxury hotel spas. The treatment facilities was the best I've seen anywhere, with the most comfortable and padded treatment bed. When we finally departed the hotel (with great regret as we loved the experience so much), we had a bit of an incident with our Bolt driver who cancelled our ride after we drove a few blocks. The hotel staff came over to rescue us - I was so grateful and this is truly next level service!

Un cadre somptueux et un accueil pretentieux. Une cuisine sophistiquee qui , d'une asperge fait un bouquet et d'une marquise fait dans le discours une duchesse. Presentation historique a revoir. Parfait accord prix / prestation.

Update following the hotel's response to my previous review: Thank you for your response. However, I am disappointed that none of the specific issues I raised were addressed, and that my concerns were reduced to a matter of "expectations." These are not perceptions, but factual incidents. In particular, serving yogurt that was six days past its expiration date is a serious issue, especially as it could have been consumed by my child and posed a health risk. No proper explanation or formal apology was provided at the time. Regarding the taxi arrangement, although I followed up via WhatsApp and received an initial reply, no further explanation has been provided after one week. This also suggests that the issues were not properly shared among your staff. I would appreciate clear responses regarding your internal review, your food safety procedures and how this incident occurred, and your hotel's official position. Given your brand and price level, I have serious concerns about how these matters have been handled, and I look forward to a concrete response. I have just stayed in Room 112 from April 28 with my child. This was our second stay. We decided to return because our experience two years ago was absolutely wonderful. However, while the price has doubled, the quality of service felt less than half of what it used to be, and our stay was filled with unpleasant experiences from beginning to end. While I can accept minor issues at a four-star hotel, I did not expect this level of experience when paying EU5,000 per night. *Since we arrived in the morning, the butler suggested a plan before check-in. We expressed that we wanted to dine at Angelina, and were advised to go to the Petit Trianon location instead, as the main one was busy. We followed this advice, but it turned out to be cafe-only, and Petit Trianon itself was closed until noon. As a result, we wasted over an hour. The butler never apologized throughout our stay. *The butler also showed a lack of consideration when guiding us to the room. Even though he clearly saw my child and me removing our shoes at the entrance (there was a clear step), he entered the room with his shoes on. I understand that removing shoes indoors is not a French custom, but the complete lack of sensitivity to the guest's behavior was surprising, uncomfortable, and felt disrespectful. *At breakfast, my child ordered fruit yogurt, but the packaged yogurt served had expired six days earlier. I noticed before eating and informed the staff. The only response was "Can I take it?" and only after I expressed concern did I receive a brief "I'm sorry." There was no formal apology from any responsible staff such as a kitchen manager. *We had requested a taxi to arrive at 12:15 for departure. However, when staff came to collect our luggage around 12:00, we were told the taxi had already arrived. When we pointed out the agreed time, we were told "take your time." We boarded the taxi at 12:12 (three minutes before the scheduled time), but the meter was already around EU13. The hotel explained that in Versailles, meters start when the taxi begins heading to pick you up, but this makes the concept of a reservation meaningless. Given the other issues, this explanation was hard to trust, and I am currently asking staff at another hotel to verify this. *It seemed that none of these issues were shared among staff. We were repeatedly asked "How was your stay?" If nothing is communicated internally, I question the purpose of having a butler service at all. It felt that you are not paying for service at this hotel, but rather for the location itself. I strongly recommend that the staff experience staying at this hotel themselves, even if only at half the price, as it may help them better understand the guest experience.
